CO alarms are used to potentially reduce exposure to high levels
of CO in the home and other locations. Several studies have been conducted
to evaluate the large number of false alarms during some time periods and
the effect of ambient levels of CO and moisture on false alarm rates.

| Air Toxics Microenvironment Exposure and
Monitoring Study
Three microenvironments (100 randomly selected gasoline stations, 10
parking structures and 10 office buildings) were monitored for selected air
toxics. Data were used to assist the South Coast Air Quality Management
District (SCAQMD) in ranking the health risks of air toxics.
